We spend our time helping people with whatever they need, from homework to assignments. We help people learn different languages such as German and French. Additionally, there are a lot of different subjects such as science, math, biology, chemistry, philosophy, etc.
The community is amazing and helpful. People frequently hang out in voice chat. We talk, play, chill, and help each other out, but most importantly, everything mentioned is completely free!
FirstOnlineSchool is an online community based on general school support. The community consists of certified teachers, tutors, and students who volunteer their free time to help other students that struggle with homework and assignments, or people who just want to learn in general. Sometimes, there are classes arranged by teachers or students for a few subjects, primarily English.
The goal of FirstOnlineSchool is to provide a voluntary service that is free of charge and make it widely accessible to people around the world – especially during the Covid-19 pandemic as it has prevented students from effectively learning. Some subjects in which we assist include: Math, Science, History, English, and many more. Many of the teachers, tutors, and students are working towards becoming an actual teacher and potentially earn a degree in that field.
Our way of teaching is to not only provide the students with the information they need, but rather to make the process fun. We also arrange certain events that can potentially benefit the students, such as learning a piece of software or collaborating for a project. The software where the community resides is called Discord, which is essentially a free online communication software that helps people connect with each other. Discord can be used for literally anything, ranging from gaming to education.
Leo is a 21-year-old student who is doing his bachelor’s degree in education. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he took the initiative to start a project to support other students with their homework and assignments because he saw how challenging many find attending school online instead of attending physically.
“During the initial part of lockdown, I saw how many of my friends were struggling with the transition from being in-person to distance learning. What started as simply a side project has now progressed to become my full-time job. The aspect of the server that is most significant to me is that all of the work put in is completely non-profit. On top of that, certified teachers voluntarily assist in the server.”
How to receive help!
Simply ask your question in one of the “help”-channels. Be as precise as possible, so it’s easier for our teachers and tutors to understand. You may want to ping the teacher subject role if you’re not receiving help after a while.
Someone that is proficient in that subject will go through your questions step by step. The answer is never given right away. The goal is to make the student understand the task.
If you received support and want to help this project to grow and make it more accessible to students from all around the world, follow this guide:
